I Can Hear My Self With My Headphone Xbox. Xl1

I have a turtle beach ear force xl1 gaming headset amplified stero sound. im just talking to my fiend and all the sudden I can hear my own voice. It sayup you can hear yourself talk but I wanted to know if you can turn it off or something? I don't like it cause I'm not use to it...,
