I Want A Refund For My Defective Software When E-filing? Who Do I Call About It

I want a refund for the defective software I purchased for e-filing my 2010 tax returns?  Who do I call about it.  TurboTax had a glitch and indicated I had a refund coming from the State in 8-14 days, when I in fact owe money.  I also did not get my refund in the time stated.  I am upset and angry and I want all of my money back for purchasing this software.  I also don't know if I trust e-filing federal due to the glitch and would like that refunded as well.

I didn't receive a refund, the TurboTax SOFTWARE, calculated the wrong amount when I did my taxes and that is what I e-filed.  The MN Department of Revenue said that the TurboTax software has a glitch in it that was discovered three weeks ago.  Because the SOFTWARE had something wrong with it, it indicated I was getting a refund (I NEVER GOT THE REFUND)!  When the MN Department of Revenue processed my return, they determined there was something wrong with the SOFTWARE and that I owe money.  AGAIN, I NEVER GOT PAID ANYTHING.  I DID NOT ENTER ANY INFORMATION INCORRECTLY SO STOP PUTTING IN ALL ON THE ME!

It is your responsibility to check for software updates, which often fix "glitches." If an update reflects a different refund amount, you are obligated to amend your return. Your screaming is not going to get you anywhere.

Calm down. You are blaming TurboTax for things they have nothingi to do with. 1. The software is not "defective." Millions of people have successfully filed their returns and received their returns because they used TurboTax according to the manual. 2. It is impossible for TurboTax to indicate a refund when in fact taxes are owed. If you owe, it is because of the figures and information you entered into the program. 3. Your return was successfully filed, and you are not due any kind of refund for a successful filing. 4. Your story has a big hole in it. If you owe money, why did you get a refund? TurboTax estimates when you will receive your refund based on information given to them by the IRS. TurboTax has no control over when your refund is issued. Perhaps you should call the IRS and yell at them. They're the ones who enforce a 40,000 tax code that no one understands or can fill out without commercial software or a CPA. That's who you should be mad at, not TurboTax. If you can precisely explain the "glitch" you are talking about and document that there is a bug in the software, then you can discuss a refund.
