Cell Phone Number

Activated a new tracfone cell phone. Minutes from the previous phone were transfered. However, my previous cell number was not transfered and i received a new number. I still want my previous cell number to be installed on my new phone but after 3 calls to tracfone support cannot get my previous number put on my new cell phone. What can I do to get my previous cell number on my new cell phone

Customers can transfer an eligible landline and an eligible wireless number within the local service area. Pager numbers, special use numbers and toll free numbers are not available for transfer. The number requested to be ported will be checked at the initiation of the transfer process to ensure that the number is eligible for porting. If you used a different contact # try this one: Phone: 800-323-2366 How to reach a live person: Press 1 for English
Press 4 at second menu
Press 5 at third menu Hours of Operation: This number appears to be available 24/7. Officially, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (USA, Eastern times).

that post suggests that their is no pin - which isn't good.

Another post suggest that your account number is your phone's serial number (that's the same as the MEID) and your pin is the last 4 digits of your phone number: HowardForums: Your Mobile Phone Community & Resource

 

in the end, 'account number' and 'pin' are the industry standard data needed to port a number; if the above posts don't help you should contact tracphone - if a rep claims to not have the solution, ask for their supervisor. keep going up till you reach someone who knows how tracphone interacts with other carriers. that person will know how to identify your account and pin numbers.
