Changing Oil Change Reminder Frequency

How do I change the change oil interval frequency from 3000 miles to 5000 miles.   Does this negate the warrranty?

Hello jeffreygoodwin press and hold down the trip reset button on your odometer, while doing this, turn the start button to turn on power but do not start the engine the multi-information display will show "resetting maintenance interval".
