Can The Instrument Panel Light Color Be Changed From Orange To White?

instrument panel is backlit in orange....also a/c and radio.  Can it be swithced to a white light a little easier on the eyes?

I feel your pain. The instrument panel in my first car was orange as well and it got irritating. It is doable, but I would strongly suggest you get a repair manual to make sure you don't mess something up in the electrical system, and always disconnect your battery when doing electrical work on a vehicle. 

The way I did it was this:

I found the screws that held the covering of the instrument panel on, and removed them.

I removed the instrument panel cover.

I saw bulbs and diodes. The bulbs produce light that is emitted through colored diodes to het the desired effect. I simply removed the diodes and closed the circuit where they were. If you are not confident in your electrical skills, get a mechanic or electrician to do it for you. They shouldn't charge very much.
