How Do You Enter E^i Theta?

I am trying to convert complex numbers to and from the e^i format, but only get syntax errors.  HELP!

Requests for more information

Request from natterre on September 21st, 2012 6:20 PM
OK, I was wrong - It is not a syntax error, but a data type error.  I have read the manual, played around with it for hours, and searached the internet, but I just can figure out how to enter e^i.  I can enter e^anything else, but not i.  Nor can I get the calculator to spit out a complex number in e^i format regardless of what mode setting combinations I use.  HELP!

It seems that different combinations of the mode settings don't seem to matter.  I still can't enter e^i.  Any suggestions?

You need to be working in the complex number mode. See your manual for further info.
