If your engine has overheated (due to a stuck thermostat, low coolant or for some other reason), it's possible for superheated coolant to swell the hose. Swollen hoses should be replaced as soon as possible. This applies to radiator hoses, as well as other hoses under the hood.
How do I stop my radiator hose from swelling?
The extreme heat of the engine can make your hose swell. To fix the problem, replace your hose and add more coolant to your engine. Make sure your thermostat is properly functioning as well. If the coolant isn't the problem, your hose may be swelling due to pressure.
