First Oil Change
Change oil light came on at 2100 miles as it was 6 months. stopped coming on after a week...now I am at 2800 miles and am leaving for a 400 mile trip. Is this oil change really needed for teh 6 months mark or can I wait until I get to the 3800-4000 miles mark??

Change oil every 3000 miles or 3 months, whichever comes first. Check the dip stick to see if you are low on oil. If you are add 1 quart. If you are going on a 400 mile trip, that would be 800 round trip. If you are going on this trip, I suggest getting the oil change and check at the dealer to make sure nothing is wrong. You don't want to be stranded.
