Stereo 'skip Song' Controls Don't Work With Olugged In Phone?

I like to play music through my iPhone via a coRd plugged into the USB. Sometimes I can switch songs using either the controls on the steering wheel or the stereo itself but most times it doesn't work at all. When I press the next button, the titles change on the screen but the songs don't actally skip to the next one. It's really frustrating. I have a basic model - no upgraded stereo or anything. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to consult an authorise repair shop and get the stereo checked, there might be a firmware problem. The usb reading chip might need to be replace as it is the one that is supose to skip the songs normaly.
