Can You Change A Name On A Ticket Purchased For Someone Else?

my DIL purchased a one way ticket to Austin for my son. Can she chanage it and put it in her name to return home from Austin?

No, airline tickets are nontransferable, meaning you can not change the name on a ticket once purchased/issued. The benefit for traveling on Southwest is they don't charge change fees. So if you're unable to use the ticket, you can at least cancel your reservation and use the ticket value towards future travel on Southwest.
