Sony Vrd Mc6 Disc Compatability

I have 3 Sony VRD-MC6 dvdirect recorders. yesterday one of them said to insert a compatible disc. The disc I used is compatible on my other two and has been working fine like the other two recorders. I tried 4 different discs thinking that particular disc had an issue, however none of them worked but they did in the other two DVD Direct machines. Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot and fix this issue?
