Distance Measurements
The Manual calls for inputting certain specific distances as part of the setup process, but it is not clear about the exact location of points being measured for distance. For instance: "distance between each speaker and floor". Floor is not a problem, but where on the speaker? The top? The tweeter? The center of the cabinet? Same for "Screen Height". Floor to center of screen? Floor to bottom, or top of screen? No problem with understanding "Ceiling Height" or "Ears to Floor"

Here are some guidelines for measuring the distances required for the Sony STR-AZ7000ES setup process:
Distance between each speaker and floor: Measure from the bottom of the speaker cabinet to the floor.
Screen Height: Measure from the floor to the bottom of the screen.
Ceiling Height: Measure from the floor to the ceiling.
Ears to Floor: Measure from the floor to your ears when you are seated in your listening position.
If you have any doubts about where to measure, it is best to consult with a qualified audio/video installer.
Here are some additional tips:
If you have bookshelf speakers, you can measure the distance from the bottom of the speaker cabinet to the floor, even if the speakers are on stands.
If you have floorstanding speakers, you can measure the distance from the bottom of the speaker plinth to the floor.
If you have a center channel speaker, you can measure the distance from the bottom of the speaker cabinet to the floor, even if the speaker is mounted above or below the TV.
If you have surround speakers, you can measure the distance from the bottom of the speaker bracket to the floor, even if the speakers are mounted on the wall or ceiling.
Once you have measured the required distances, you can enter them into the Sony STR-AZ7000ES setup menu. The receiver will then use this information to optimize the sound quality for your home theater system.
