Our Remote Doesn't Work Anymore, What Can I Do?

We just aquired a sony surround system from our grandfather and have only had it a week. We set it up and it worked fine for 6 days. The remote has new batteries but it won't work anymore. We tried new batteries but don't know what else can be done before giving it up as a lost cause. Any suggestions?

You should go get a universal remote. You will be able to program it to the system.
