Here are the possible fix:
Option 1: If your TV has a shared component video (3 RCA) and composite video (1 RCA) input, the DVD player will get black and white picture if you connect the DVD with composite to the input when the TV is set for the component. You need to set the TV to composite in the TV menu.
Option 2: Disconnect all cables from the TV > then reconnect the colored cables to the same color-coded jacks on the TV. If the DVD player still has no color, replace the cables if necessary.
Option 3: For S-Video cables, unplug the S-video cables on both ends and check if there are any bent or missing pins, which will cause DVD player black and white with no color errors. Replace the cables if necessary.
OPTION 4. Adjust the color settings on your TV to make sure the issue is not a simple screen adjustment.
OPTION 5:Try playing a different disc to see if the issue only occurs with the one disc.

OPTION 6: Try playing another video source (such as a VCR) to determine whether or not the issue only occurs with the disc player.

IMPORTANT: Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this issue, check the picture status after completing each step.

Why is my DVD showing in black and white?

The DVD player black and white issue is most likely to be caused by the incorrect cabling. As you know, many DVD/Blu-ray players have more than one connection type. Generally, a DVD player can be hooked up to a TV set via an HDMI, composite, A/V, component or S-Video cable

Why does my DVD player not have color?

The most likely issue is that it is connected wrong. If your DVD player connects with the 3 colored connectionsm then you need to use the connections on the left side of the TV or on connections on the back. The 3 plugs on the right hand side if you look at the back are the ones you need.
