Turn off the audio system
Hold down the "STOP" button on the unit
Turn on the power while holding the "STOP" button
Release the "STOP" button when you see "INITIAL" on the display
The audio system will reset to its original factory settings.
Note: This procedure may vary slightly depending on the specific model and firmware version of your Sony MHC-V5 audio system.

- Turn off the system by pressing the power button.
- Unplug the AC power cord from the wall outlet.
- Hold down the + button on the front panel and plug the AC power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Keep holding the + button until the system turns on and the display shows "Initial" or "Ver. x.xx".
- Release the + button and the system will begin the reset process.

- Turn off the system by pressing the "Standby/On" button.
- Press and hold the "Volume +" and "Volume -" buttons.
- While holding these buttons, press and release the "Standby/On" button.
- Release the "Volume +" and "Volume -" buttons.
- The system will turn on and automatically reset to the default settings.
Note: Resetting the system will erase any personalized settings and restore the original factory settings.
