Reset Tv After Replacing Lamp

We just replaced the lamp on sony wega tv and was working fine but now after I turn it on it turns off. Do i have to reset it?

resetting the timer will only tell the set that the lamp has been replaced. If you don't follow the directions supplied with the new lamp to reset it will simply give you a message that the lamp should be changed soon. I will not turn off the lamp or stop it from working.

I have seen a number of lamps that are bought cheaper "on line" from non authorized Sony distributors that sell lamps that are not up to par. These are lamps that don't have the instructions generally. And these lamps don't perform correctly, and some customers have had to send back their lamp many times before they get a good working lamp.

There ae other things that can cause the shut down, and these will usually cause the LED indicator to blink a code. If this is happening, then post a question with that information (for instance a clogged cooling fan will run slow and cause a shutdown with 4X blinks).
