Based on my research, I didn't find any compatible firmware software for your Sony CRX230EE. In my experience, Sony CRX230EE and other CD/DVD ROM drives do not require firmware to work with your computer. As long as the type of the cables matches to the motheboard, this will be used without any installation required. The support website of Sony also returned this message.
"We are sorry, there is currently no information currently available for the CRX230E."
