Usb Trouble Shooting

what does it mean when " the usb device connected to this unit is not supported"? I am trying to hook up an external hard drive to the Blu Ray player. Im wondering if I am out of luck with this device or if I need to go an register it someone with sony or anything like that.

Your Sony BDP-S3100 may not support a USB External Hard Disk. The device maybe considering your external drive to be a hard disk and not USB disk. I believe that your Sony BDP-S3100 is compatible with USB Flash Drive. You should use this storage device type.
