Gravity

If you dug a hole through the center of the earth,and jumped in, would you stay at the center because of gravity?

This is actually a fairly common question in Elementary School sciences classes.  As such it's been answered many times.

General consensus (since no one has been there) is that you would float weightless since the gravity from all parts of the Earth is equal at the center.  Never mind the heat which wsould make life rough.

Given enough momentum from one side you would probably fly out the other side but without enough you would become a yo-yo.

If you dug a hole all the way through the center of earth so there will be two entrances (one from either side of Earth) and jumped in, you would accelerate fly past the center of gravity and keep flying and almost reach the other side but gravity will pull you back and you will fly back and forth, each time getting closer and closer to the center of gravity and eventually would remain at the center, but flying alone would kill from all the g forces (forces of gravity) and plus the temperature and all the other stuff, haha
