To set your Singer Fashion Mate 5560 to do a zigzag stitch, follow these steps:
  1. Turn on your sewing machine by pressing the power button.
  2. Select the zigzag stitch option on the stitch selector dial. The zigzag stitch option is usually represented by a line with a series of diagonal lines next to it.
  3. Adjust the stitch length and width by turning the stitch length and stitch width dials. The stitch length controls the length of the stitches, while the stitch width controls the width of the zigzag.
  4. Thread your machine by following the threading guide and diagram in your machine manual.
  5. Attach the appropriate presser foot for the zigzag stitch.
  6. Place your fabric under the presser foot and lower the presser foot lever.
  7. Use the foot pedal to begin sewing.

Remember to always test the stitch on a scrap piece of fabric before sewing on your actual project to ensure the settings are correct and to adjust them as needed.
