Hand Wheel Won't Turn And Makes A Loud Clicking Noise.

I just received my new singer h74 today and afete setting it up I was testing different tensions. All of the sudden the thread became a matted mess and I had to pull the fabric out. I removed the bobbin and got the remaining thread out. Now as I try to turn the hand wheel on the side it's very stiff and the bobbin case seems to turn awkwardly. I press the sew button or the pedal And the needle seems to get stuck and an ! Shows on the screen. Help?!? Did I just break my new machine?
