I would suggest you refer to the user guide sheet. This is for the 1801 but they all operate to the same similar rules. When powered on check out the reset operation as that often resolves a lot of errors. Make sure that the paper is loaded correctly and the unit is in a good power outlet. This is a link to the guide.

Carry out a simple addition EG. 2 + 2 = (press the enter key). Make sure that the ribbon has not dried out but if the paper does not feed there could be a problem with the printer mechanism. There are videos on video sites that would help with solving these problems.

Try this for help:

Hope that solves your problem. Please mark as helpful if it leads you to a satisfactory solution.Thank you.

The Sharp EL1850P is a printing calculator that features an on/off switch and a print function. Based on your description, it sounds like you're having trouble with the printing function when you turn the calculator on.

To troubleshoot this issue, you may want to try the following steps:

  1. Check the power source: Make sure the calculator is properly plugged in or that the batteries are fully charged. If the calculator isn't receiving enough power, the printing function may not work correctly.
  2. Check the paper: Ensure that the paper is properly loaded and aligned with the print head. If the paper is jammed or misaligned, the printing function may not work properly.
  3. Check the print mode: Make sure the calculator is set to the correct print mode. Some calculators have different print modes, such as "continuous" or "semi-continuous," which affect how the calculator prints.
  4. Check the ribbon: If your calculator uses a ribbon to print, make sure it is properly installed and aligned with the print head. If the ribbon is damaged or not installed correctly, the printing function may not work.
  5. Check the manual: If none of the above steps solve the issue, consult the manual that came with your calculator for further troubleshooting steps or contact Sharp customer support for assistance.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and fix the issue with the printing function on your Sharp EL1850P calculator.
