How Do You Easily Drain A Sharp Portable Air Conditioner, Model # Cv-10nh?

I am having issues with my Sharp air conitioner, Model # CV-10 NH. I've misplaced the manual and cannot figure out how to easily drain the unit. Basicly...after about an hour of working, the unit shuts off and all the lights begin to blink, letting me know that the water needs to be drained. I've purchased a flexible hose that I've attached to the back drainage pipe, hoping that if I placed the end of the hose in a small bucket, it would drain on its own. That is not the case. In fact, it seems that unless the hose is simply laying on the ground the unit will not drain. Please tell me that I am simply doing something wrong and that there is a much easier way, because if there isn't , I will be thouroughly disappointed with this model. Thank you.

I'll just tell you what the manual says - Open up the upper drainage valve by turning it to the open position. Remove the stop. Press the power button on the unit twice. This is supposed to start the draining. Last year it worked for me but mine now will not drain. Hope that helps you though.

Unless the hose is below the drain outlet it will not drain. Gravity requires that the hose be below the outlet to drain. Try raising the unit and feed the tube unto the bucket below the drain level or outside below the drain level and see if it makes a difference. I am in the process of doing this with my unti now and it seems to work.

Roll the unit over to a top stair, back facing down the stairs. put a pan on he second stair directly under the drain. Open the drain plug. You can expedite draining after the first couple of minutes by VERY carefully dropping the backside wheels off the edge of the stair, tilting the unit toward you.

CAUTION: you're dealing with quite a bit of weight. Move slowly and carefully when attempting this. If the unit falls, get out of the way and let it go.
