Any Updates On The Kenmore Elite Dishwasher Fire Issues?

Internet searches show many problems with the Kenmore Elite Dishwasher including numerous fire issues with the Control Panel. Has the recall on these models been clarified? I am afraid to use my machine since the thermal fuse has shorted (cause for most of the smoke & fire issues).
