Water In Bleach Compartment

Why is there water in the bleach compartment when the machine is off

Water is circulated through the trays on most cycles as that is the path from the cold supply. The action rinses the bleach and then it would have water going through it during a rinse cycle. There will always be some water left in the tray. Just tip it away before reloading.
