Shorted (?) Microwave Needs New Fuse?
During operation, my 12-year old Samsung microwave made a loud, unhappy noise and totally powered down. Is there any chance it's just a fuse? If yes, how do I change it? Thank you in advance.

Neither the oven’s display nor the oven operate.
• Properly insert the plug into a grounded outlet.
• If the outlet is controlled by a wall switch, make sure the wall switch
is turned on.
• Remove the plug from the outlet, wait ten seconds, then plug it in
again.
• Reset the circuit breaker or replace any blown fuse.
• Plug another appliance into the outlet; if the other appliance doesn’t
work, have a qualified electrician repair the outlet.
• Plug the oven into a different outlet. You got 12 years out of it which is very good, it may be time for a replacement.

Hi. Unfortunately, fuses do not make audible sound when blowing. Capacitators and other kindred component instead blows audibly. In anycase, you can just replace the PCB on which the blown component is - or better yet, replace the component itself. It is only that components blows because the current supply was abnormally high - meaning that the original fault lies with another electronic part. A technician should however be able to make diagnosis and recommendations.
