Drum Motor Noise
hi- I have a DV231AGW/XAA and the motor has stopped turning and the noise emitting sounds like the motor is trying to turn but it does not. Been in storage for a bit, but yesterday it was working okay. The last time I tried it this morning, the drum began to rotate but stopped after only a couple of inches and just made the whirring sound of it attempting to turn I think. HELP!! :)Mark

The drive belt is a very long, slender belt that wraps all the way around the dryer drum, around a tension pulley, and then around the drive motor. Over time, the drive belt can become frayed or otherwise damaged. If the drive belt is frayed or damaged, the dryer will be noisy as it turns. Inspect the drive belt for signs of wear. If the drive belt is worn, replace it.
