I Keep Getting 'not Optimum Mode'
changing the settings to 1280x1024x60 doesnt work

Are you saying when you change the computer resolution to 1280 x 1024 the monitor won't show the screen, or you computer video card doesn't have this resolution as an option?
Are you using a VGA cable? the vertical frequency is from 56-75 hz, so try others, not just 60 hz. what does the monitor show, just the message, or does it show the picture with this message over it for a few seconds?
