Remove TOTALe from the desktop:

Note: The Rosetta Stone TOTALe application should not be on the desktop. If it is, then updates cannot install properly and will result in this error.

  1. Look on the desktop for Rosetta Stone TOTALe. If you locate it, then drag it to the trash.

Rename a Rosetta Stone file:

  1. Click the Finder icon on your dock.
  2. Click the Go drop-down and then Computer.
  3. Click Mac HD, Library, Application Support, Rosetta Stone, and then TOTALe.
  4. Control + click on "tracking.db3" and click Get Info.
  5. Under Name and Extension rename the file to "trackingbackup.db3".
  6. Close the Get Infowindow.

Install Application Updates

  1. From the Menu (at the top of the screen), click the Go drop-down and then Applications.
  2. Open Rosetta Stone TOTALe.
  3. An update prompt will appear.  Follow the prompts to download it.
  4. Rosetta Stone TOTALe will close and a Setup Guide will appear. Follow the Setup to install.
  5. Once complete, open Rosetta Stone TOTALe from you Applications.
  6. If another update prompt appears, then follow the prompts to download it. If no update prompt appears, then skip to the next section.
  7. Rosetta Stone TOTALe will close and a Setup Guide will appear. Follow the Setup to install.

Restore Rosetta Stone file:

  1. Click the Finder icon on your dock.
  2. From the Menu (at the top of the screen), click the Go drop-down and then Applications.
  3. Click Mac HD, Library, Application Support, Rosetta Stone, and then TOTALe.
  4. Control + click on "tracking.db3" and click Move to Trash.
  5. Control + click on "trackingbackup.db3" and click Get Info.
  6. Under Name and Extension, rename the file to "tracking.db3".
  7. Close the Get Infowindow.

Open Rosetta Stone TOTALe:

  1. Click the Finder icon on your dock.
  2. From the menu, click Go and then Applications.

  3. Double-click the Rosetta Stone TOTALe application. TOTALe should open without the 2124 error appearing.

I did all of this but the program did not relaunch on its own.

The error message went away but I was left with an endless loop of being asked to download the same update over & over & over.

This is a patch I got from the Rosetta Stone Tech Support:

http://resources.rosettastone.com/rs/updates/application/4.5.5/macintosh/Rosetta%20Stone%20TOTALe%20Update.dmg

Download it, then open it in Finder & launch the new application.

Works like a charm!!

You are using the wrong software disk. That is why you are getting this error message. Use Microsoft windows dick software.
