Good Program?
Is rosetta stone a really useful? I saw the tv ads but im not sure if i can trust it.

I've personally used rosetta stone when I was learning spanish several years ago, and it was pretty bad. The examples given never really related to what I actually needed to learn, and the controls were impossible to navigate properly. You're better off learning the good old-fashioned way of reading paper guides.

In my experience all ads are hyped to get buyers to make an impulse buy. My personal use of this program is that you learn by rote visual memorization. It in no way will make you fluent in any language.

I have personally used Rosetta Stone to try to learn Spanish. I was quite amazed at how quickly and easily I picked up what was taught to me and I have retained the knowledge for some time now even without much practice. No part of the lessons are in English and I loved the way that you were also judged on your own audio pronunciations.
