.mov Files On Usb

Hi-I have an old roku n1101 which i have been using also to hook my portable hard drive to and play .mov files. The old app is gone and suddenly they will not pull up on the media player. the bar gets to about 40% and stops:-( software is updated to 3.1 build 1198
