Rheem Series 300 Temperature Control

I have a 300 series stat with an RGRM-12 and it seems to be causing the furnace to short cycle, and sometimes doesn't allow it to start even when it calls for heat. I notice this happens when the temp is within 1 degree of stat temp. Is there a way to set the range? For example, +2 and -2 degrees for calling for heat and shuting off. This would help prevent the constant off and on because it's trying to maintain the exact temp. Thanks. Patrick
