80's Poem In Reader's Digest On The Exquisite Pain Of Motherhood

The poem focussed on the unexpected fear that a mother now has - whether her child is safe, whether they will be happy etc. A woman can be fearless until she becomes a mother where she will know real fear for the first time. It was a positive beautiful poem. I read it approx 1985 (but it may have been an old edition)
