Prolem With Tide
We have experienced purple blotching of whites with Tide with Alternative Bleach. What is interesting is that not all items are affected. This has now happened twice and the blotches do not come out with regular bleach. Is this a problem with the product or the washing machine?

This seems to be a not uncommon problem, but according to Tide it's because of misuse of the product. You can see how to prevent the purple blotches -- and how to remove them from clothes that already have them -- here:
