I Have A Knocking Noise When I Speed Up?

When i am stopped and go to accelerate, I get a really loud knocking noise coming from underneath the car. Any idea if it is cause me tranny is low on fluid? Also my cruise control doesn't work.

Hi. To be able to best advise on the possible cause, it is necessary to narrow down the knocking noise to a smaller area. I say this because there are numerous rotatory parts that would come out of alignment or break and consequently cause this.
