2002 Pontiac Sunfire Revving Rpm When Ac Is On When Driving

Your engine/transmission computer controls the idle air control for this engine and also is used to bump up the idle slightly when the ac is switched on,if your idle is erratic to where it is jumping around or to high or to low with the ac on then it may be possible there is a fault with the idle air control motor on the engine or the computer itself.
This would need tested and is best done by a shop or dealer that has an idle air motor tester to see if the motor itself is at fault,then it can be determined if the idle air motor needs replacing or if this is an internal computer fault.
