Motor Shut Off

Hi..I have a Pontiac Aztek...and I was in the drive thruand put it in park and the Aztek engine shut off...all the lights on dash board were flashing and I hear a lot of fast clicking coming from the fuse area.. then the lights on the dash dimmed out and I went to start it and nothing no clicking and it would not come out of park..would not turn over..I have some people offer a battery jump..but nothing happened..after I got it towed home..the tow truck driver offered another boost and nothing ..he moved the wires around and the power came back but I could take it out of gear..but when I put the key in....no starter sound no reaction..the key just turnsanyone have any ideasthanks
