Replace Starter On 2000 Pontiac Bonneville

My boyfriend is trying to take out the starter from his 2000 Bonneville because we don't have much money to take it to a shop. Can anyone point us in the right direction of how to take it out?

I believe most late model Bonnevilles use a 3.8L engine. The starter should be next to the engine oil pan on the forward (LH side, facing radiator) extending slightly into the transaxle. It has two mounting bolts. Some of the newer
Bonnevilles have the Northstar engine. On a Northstar engine, the starter is located under the intake manifold. To access starter, remove hose clamp and pop the intake manifold out.
