What Causes Low Oil Pressure/tapping Lifters In A 2003-pontiac Booneville Ssei

I recently purchased a 2003 pontiac booneville ssei. The car hadnot been driven in a few years. When the engine is running you hear this tapping sound which my boyfriend and several others said it needed new lifters.  My boyfriend replaced the lifters, upper valve intake cover gaskets and the oil pressure sensor. He also changed the oil and added mystery oil to the oil. The tapping now is not as loud but it is still there. My boyfriend seems to think that the car not getting enough oil pressure since running idle the oil pressure is 40 or a little below.  And when driving it never gets above 50.  Now he thinks we may need to buy a oil pump. I don't want to continue to guess at the problem.  Has anyone had a similar issue??? (The car has been driven at least 200 miles since changing the lifters and gaskets) Trying To Be Patient Girlfriend                                Related  Manual Pages Related Manual Pages - 20 total ( view more ) Owner's Manual - Page 2 The 2003 PontiacBonnevilleOwnerManual SeatsandRestraintSystems ...Front Seats Safety Belts ...Child Restraints ...Air Bag Systems ...Restraint System Check ...Features and ... 5-90 Vehicle Identification ...5-91 Electrical System ...5-100 C8pa.citigs and Specifications Normal Maintenance Replacement Parts ...5-101 Maintenance Schedule ...6-1 Maintenance Schedule ...6-2 CustomerAssistanceInformation ...
