1993 Pontiac Sunbird Thermostat

Where does the thermostat for my 1993 Sunbird go? It looks like I have one inside my radiator cap. When I took it off there is what looks like one inside the tank. But a friend said it has to be located somehere on the engine block. Help!

Your friend is wrong. It is under the raiator cap like you said.
