Hdmi Standby Through Not Working W/ The Samsung Un55es6150f?

the manual refers to a list of compatible products but I could not find where that's located. having partial success in connecting the two devices, but the standby through of hdmi from the cable box to the tv isn't working. looks like the tv swithces the input to TV/SAT but my cable box is BDR/DVR.

For reference look at user manual starting on Page 46.

To use the Home Menu on TV screen, you need to have HDMI OUT hooked up to your TV.

Did you go to the Home Menu that shows up on TV and set it up? You press "Receiver", then "home menu". From there select: "HDMI Setup", then make sure control is turned to OFF, then go to "Standby Thru" and select the input that you want to be sent to the TV when the receiver is OFF.
