My Pioneer Se-205 Headphones Aren't Working.

I dug out an old, mildly used pair of pioneer se-205 stereo headphones with a 1/4" jack. When I try to plug into any kind of monitor or amplifier headphone jack, no sound comes out. Yes, the things are turned on, yes the jack is in all the way, and yes the volume is turned up. You think maybe the cord is broken? I don't know
