i forgot my password and was given a new one . when i try to use it it says my credit card is already in use . its the only card i have .what do i have to do so i can use the new password on my card

This happened because you opened a new PayPal account instead of replacing your password for the same account. You can replace your password for the same account if you give PayPal the same email address with which you originally registered. Here's the procedure:

Go to the PayPal website.
Click Problem with login? in the Account login box.
Click I don’t know my password.
Enter the email address you registered with PayPal.
Enter the characters shown in the image in the security text box, and click Continue.
Enter information to confirm that you own the account, and click Continue.
Enter your new password twice, and click Submit.
