This is the major problem with the Panasonic. I was ready to junk my microwave until I saw a critical review that talked about replacing the door latch for about $11.00. I looked up the fix on YouTube. I found this fix and it worked great! took about 20 minutes and anybody with a screwdriver can do it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAWeTfkriDY
