Wont Run

I have a 1998 Olds 88, it was running fine on Monday and I went and got gas and it quit running, like to never made it back to work. Had someone to drain and check gas, it is fine. It starts good, idles good then tries to get hot, smells bad and starts running rough, do you know what it might be?
