Before going too crazy on this, you should know there's been a recall for this exact part. Of course, the recall began back in 2000 and I'm not sure if there's an "expiration date" (for lack of a better term) on recalls. At any rate, I think you should at least be aware that it has occurred.
Anyway...
I've found a good how to for the removal of the ignition switch on a '98 Achieva.
How to wire an ignition switch - generic, but should work for ya
Here's a heads up once you do replace the ignition switch.
