Non Interference Or Interference

Is the motor for a 1997 Nissan Sentra a non interference or interference motor? I paid for my car to go to a shop and they told me the first call once they looked at car and said it was the timing chain they called back 20 mins later and said that it wasn't the problem that the pin popped out the distributor so we told them to double check and then replace the distributor well I get my car out shop and not even 35 mins after driving it since it was so called replaced and the same problem that got it to the shop to begin with well I basicly get the guy to come get me and he accidentally slipped and said they charged me $135 to superglue a part and it broke down and wharever he done finally crunk it up it ran for 1 1/2 and broke down once again I got it towed to my brothers and we discover it has a terrible timing chain tensioner and the timing chain is broke well the timing chain that was on it not sure if they did it at shop or if I bought car like that but fits a racing go cart not the correct part will I be able to save my car ive only had it for 5 mobths and have almost 1800 in parts alone fixing factory parts and I basicly don't have nor want to spend the money for the parts if it cant be fixed..... pls tell me its a motor that can be saved
