The user name to access the range extender is admin, and its default password is password. NETGEAR strongly recommends that you set a more secure password.
From the range extender menu at http://www.mywifiext.net, under the Maintenance heading, select Set Password.
Type the old password, type the new password twice, and then click Apply.

Which password? The admin logon password or the pass-phrase required to connect?
If you forgot the admin password you'll need to do a factory reset. That will clear ALL settings. You can press and hold the Restore Factory Settings button on the rear panel for 7 seconds. The range extender resets, and returns to its factory settings. The button looks like a red circle.
To log in enter either http://www.mywifiext.net or http://192.168.0.1 into your browser. Log in as "admin" with default password of "password".
Either step through the setup wizard or go to the network settings screen to set a new pass-phrase.
