The user manual for tis extender is available here: http://www.helpowl.com/manuals/netgear-wn2000rpt-wn2000rpt-user-manual-pdf-7ba50f7.pdf

The manual is very informative in regard to the indicator lights and operation of the extender.

The error you reported sounds like the extender is not properly connected to the old wireless network.  Before you can use the extender you must configure it to work within your network.  Windows will report the "limited capability" error when it cannot see the Internet on the network it connects to.

You can connect to the extender with an Ethernet cable to do the initial setup.  Once plugged in your PC will aquire a network address.  After that open a browser and go to this address: http://www.mywifiext.net

This will take you to the administration web page.  Log in as user "admin" with password "password".

The screen wiull then show a menu and a status screen.  Select "Setup Wizard" on the menu and follow the steps to configure the extender.

Once complete you will connect to the extended by joining the "NETGEAR_EXT" wireless network (unless you rename it) and not your original network.

Once you connect the PC to the new wireless network it should work the same as it did on the old one but with much more range avaialble.  If not something is still set up wrong.

The install guide (2 pages) is available here: http://www.helpowl.com/manuals/Netgear/WN2000RPT/61049
