As long as the device you are using is compatible then you should not be prompted to pay to transfer tracks to it. If Napster is not recognizing your device as compatible then you will be prompted to purchase the tracks in the MP3 format which are compatible with nearly any MP3 player. Also during your trial you will be prompted to pay if you attempt to burn any track to CD as this is not included with any subscription offered by Napster (unless your subscription gives you credits to purchase the tracks but these are not unlimited).

You may also be seeing a Buy Only track. Not every track in Napster is available for download and you may be prompted to purchase certain tracks to download these to your computer. This is usually due to the request of the rights holder and you will see this over all legal digital music services.

If you are using a Napster To Go compatible device and being prompted to pay for tracks still then Napster my not be properly recognizing your player. To resolve this please contact Napster Support by email by filling out the following form:
